Quality
Application of ISO-9001 Quality Standard to the COM7 GROUPis a key factor to the Group’s success.
There are three areas where the ISO-9001 standard has an immediate effect on the customer:
- 1. Accurate and up to date information in all activities. An initial group comprises the information prior to the order. These are the complete, detailed catalogues, and also the delivery timescales. In a second group, the Quality System provides information about the order’s progress and the series number of the equipment delivered. Finally, after-sales care has all the technical documentation of the products online..
- 2. Instant resolution of incidents in the service. Each department that provides a service to the customer, be it shipment, transport, after-sales care or spare parts, has its own incident resolution centre. This feature offers incident resolution specialisation and, even more importantly, instant detection of systematic and non-specific errors, as information is close to the resolution point. This system is another feature of the COM7 GROUP's Quality System, where basic responsibilities are defined and procedures are similar in all geographical areas, making the overall management of the system easier.
- 3. Continuous improvements to processes. Continuous improvement is one of the new requirements included in the ISO 9001 standard. For the COM7 GROUP, this requirement means essentially having “modern and continuously updated technology” at all times, to quote the Group’s Quality Policy.
The Quality Management constantly ensures that the flow of information arising from incidents meets the above requirements, continuously correcting incident traffic errors, and only intervening in cases where there are complex situations.
There are three directives for investment in technology in the COM7 GROUP:
- To incorporate the latest market technology, providing that its results have been proven.
- Investment should always be justified by tangible or intangible profits, providing that the latter can be evaluated.
- Implementation timescales have been reviewed and are correct.
Of these latest technological incorporations, we would like to highlight two: the general use at all Group warehouses of the bar code reading system for product handling and for shipment and delivery to transport, and spare parts shipment equipment.
