Human value
Being one of the leading ITALIAN companies in relation to turnover, being incorporated with national capital and having own subsidiaries in OTHER EUROPEAN countries makes the COM7 GROUP an attractive place to work.
And we will continue to be attractive for as long as internal promotion works, we set professional challenges, reinforce training and create and offer opportunities to employees who are outstanding due to their attitude, as growth at the COM7 GROUP in recent years has generated and will continue to generate new posts, contributing to make our company that bit more of a leader every day.
When we look for candidates to join the COM7 GROUP, we are looking for people with “L.I.F.E., in other words, who are in Line with the objectives of a company in constant internal and external search for new talent to bring value to the mission, and who have Initiative, Flair and Energy. We are working with the professional careers departments at business schools and public employment fairs to recruit people who are able to commit to an international professional career and who have the opportunity to develop their life experience with the COM7 GROUP.
Training
Training is carried out at the COM7 GROUP that covers the different aspects which vary according to market requirements (external vision or vision of the environment) and the requirements of each department (internal or strategic company vision). The initial training that a new employee receives consists of the welcome plan, which takes place when they join and enables them to get to know both the business and the strong and weak points of the company. After the first day of theory training, during which they will learn about the company organisation, directives and internal operating regulations, the new employee will join their department and, with the help of an experienced colleague, for the first few days, they will learn how their tasks are to be undertaken before carrying them out themselves.
Training increases during quieter sales period,, in other words, from October to April. However, with internationalisation, we have noticed in recent years that these seasonality criteria are changing. We usually hold between 20 and 30 training sessions a year, with groups ranging from 15 to 10 participants, and lasting an average of 2 working days. The most common and cyclical sessions are aimed at and at personnel who want to update their knowledge. Most courses are held at the headquarters, which enables employees to get together at least once a year and means that relations between employees can develop, through participation in teaching and leisure activities.
Another department, namely the Technical Department, has for several years stipulated that each week, during the first months of the year, technical sessions should be held aimed at getting to know the season’s news for both products and technological innovation as our manufacturers’ R+D Departments continue to develop every day.
Other departments choose outdoor activities, such as the Operations Department, which takes advantage of the spring to work on group dynamics inside and outside our offices.
For people who have direct contact with international matters, the English, Portuguese, French, Italian and Spanish courses have become classics as they favour communication between suppliers, customers and companies associated with the Group.
Finally, interdepartmental sessions affect all work posts and, in short, ensure that we all have our own space and time for training
Promotions
Promotion is the driving force behind professional development for the individuals who make up the COM7 GROUP. Each month, we have between one and three people undergoing their own development, be it to change department, tasks and responsibilities, or to go on to manage people. One good example of this is that new managers have been promoted over the last 23 months. National and international companies from the Group have contributed to this career plan, who, thanks to their continuous growth, continue to offer new opportunities for professional and personal development within the structure of the organisation.
The other differentiating element consists of the people and their performance, not to say directly their attitude, which has a direct effect on their promotion. The commitment undertaken by company and worker is mutual, as both parties apply common sense when they agree that it is better, for example, to be an excellent salesperson than a bad sales manager. Consequently, a guarantee period is always established, which allows the employee to return to their previous post (if the promotion does not work out) or consolidate their new position. The career plan is also accompanied by increased training and gives the new employee the necessary experience to successfully carry out their new post, seeking to find the balance between the requirements of the post and that person’s skills.
Employees returning to the Group
We are proud of employees who have returned to us after having spent some time away from the COM7 GROUP. It is true to say that companies and people evolve in their own ways, and that when each one’s speed of evolution changes, both projects can become separate and lead to a parenthesis in the contractual relationship between the two parties.
Employees may voluntarily start on a new path outside our company, even though they may rejoin our project tomorrow, which is the case of more than 16 returning employees that we have had in recent years, and who have ery varied profiles: juniors, seniors, managers and directors.
We in Human Resources have asked ourselves what makes a person who left of their own free will return. Some employees replied that it was a series of characteristics present in our organisation: a) employees are left to get on with their work; b) team work; c) interaction between departments, they are not cut off; d) delegation of responsibilities; e) people are allowed to apply their skills and strategies to achieve the objective without excessive polarisation, because “you have the freedom of not being controlled and measured by the results of your actions.
Risk prevention and health and safety in the workplace
At COM7 GROUP, all accidents in the workplace are studied individually and a subsequent plan of action is drawn up to prevent a similar incident. However, prevention is a daily task that involves us all and we can all ensure the best prevention by avoiding unnecessary risks.
We are looking for people who are in line with the objectives of a company that is continuously searching for new talent.
